More 1-digit by 2-digit Multiplication With Area Models

Students will learn how to multiply 1-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers bigger than 20; for example, 7 × 31. Students will use the area model approach to help break down the 2-digit number into its tens and ones pieces, and then add the products of each section together to find the total area.
Along the way students plan bakery boxes, play math detective to catch a mistake, and try challenge problems.
